Carden Park Playground
Brighton's New Inclusive Outdoor Play Area
In 2020, Brighton and Hove City Council embarked on a capital refurbishment program to breathe new life into 45 pre-existing play areas. The council chose Carden Park - a rundown park in desperate need of an uplift – as one of their key sites for this project. The goal was to turn Carden Park into a multi-level hub of play, sport, and fitness for enjoyment by the entire community. Inclusive and accessible equipment was a must, as well as offering a clear progression route for children to follow as they grow.
"A lot of the feedback we’ve received from people is that they absolutely love the site. We’ve had emails and messages from families with children who have special needs, and the feedback we’ve received from them has been really special. One particularly memorable message we received was about a child signing ‘I’m having fun.’"

The Result? A Standout Play Area Offering Inclusive Playground Equipment for All
The finished project is a truly unique site, unlike anything the city has seen before. Spanning four levels, Carden Park offers a range of to suit all ages—from toddlers to teenagers. Key features include KOMPAN’s , a standout piece from our Elements Go range, the , a , and much more.
The feedback from residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with families even travelling from outside the city to use the facilities, proving this to be a landmark outdoor playground.
