Manor Fruit Farm, Normandy Parish Council

The existing play area at Manor Fruit Farm in Normandy was coming to the end of its useful life. It is an extremely popular facility for the local children and families, but a survey had highlighted the need for new equipment for older children.

The brief was to design a scheme that provided an inclusive, fenced area for the younger children and challenging, exciting and dynamic equipment for older users, including items of fitness equipment.

Normandy Parish Council carried out a community survey to establish what play features were most popular and these were listed in their brief to give guidance for the design proposal.

Following the award of the contract, members of Normandy Parish Council visited some nearby KOMPAN sites with Ray Parker (KOMPAN Area Sales Manager), which led to some amendments to some of the equipment chosen in order to provide them with their perfect solution. The result is a unique facility for all ages and abilities to enjoy together. The new area features some modern and dynamic pieces of equipment like no other in the surrounding areas.

In November 2024 a grand opening event was held which was extremely well attended and KOMPAN helped to launch the project with the provision of “goodie bags” handed out to the children who attended.

The customer has been incredibly pleased with the final outcome, as are the many families and children that have visited the play area since its opening. The final outcome has been an overwhelming success, becoming the number one destination playground in the local area!
