Stairs & Ramp
The Stairs & Ramp simulates common everyday obstacles, helping users build the strength, balance, and confidence needed to navigate stairs and sloped surfaces safely. Users can challenge their balance by walking without handrail support or work on strength and mobility by taking longer, more deliberate steps. The stairs are available in two versions, standard stairs or steep stairs, and can also be used for simple, effective exercises such as step-ups and lunges. The ability to walk safely on inclined and declined surfaces is especially important for older adults. When body posture is not properly aligned with the terrain, the risk of falling increases.
This product, Stairs & Ramp (FSW229), is provided by KOMPAN United States.

The overall framework applied for these factors is the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which quantifies "environmental information on the life cycle of a product and enables comparisons between products fulfilling the same function" (ISO, 2006). This follows the structure and applies a Life-Cycle Assessment approach to the entire Product stage from raw material through manufacturing (A1-A3).
