Grindsted Shopping Street
New city centre in Grindsted
While still respecting the original architecture in the city of Grindsted, the municipality of Billund wished to create a new and attractive urban space. The main objective was to attract more visitors to the city centre and to invite visitors across generations to stay longer, and in that way strengthen the city’s business life and the overall activity level in Grindsted. The final solution became a narrative play course that unfolds a story as you go down the street.

The play area should create life and activity in the centre of Grindsted, which I already think it does. The elements that KOMPAN suggested to be a part of the area are working, and the green sprout has already become quite a landmark.
