Interactive Play that Brings Dynamic Play, Destination Appeal & Usage Insights

A new era of outdoor play has arrived in Waco, Texas, with the debut of the United States' first OrbitPlay—an innovative destination play experience that combines dynamic movement, interactive features and social connection to ignite fun and create lasting memories.

Since its Jan. 16, 2026 launch at the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center, 300 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., the new OrbitPlay introduces a distinctive play environment centered on motion, exploration and shared play. With its eye-catching design and immersive activity zone, OrbitPlay is created to encourage children and families to engage in active outdoor recreation in a way that feels both innovative and inviting.

OrbitPlay is designed to deliver a high-energy play experience that blends physical challenge with fun, repeatable play value. Its layout encourages children to move in different ways, test their coordination and balance, and explore the space together. The structure also creates a strong visual landmark within the park, helping establish the site as a destination for play and community gathering.

As the first OrbitPlay installation in the United States, the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center opening represents an important milestone in bringing new play experiences to Waco families and broader Texas communities. The installation reflects a shared commitment to providing residents with engaging outdoor spaces that support active lifestyles, social connection and quality time outdoors.

“OrbitPlay is more than new play product—it’s a place to explore, connect and create lasting memories,” said KOMPAN, Inc. President Jethro Montzka. “Every element is designed to spark curiosity, inspire movement and bring people together in ways that keep children engaged and excited to come back time and time again. The City of Waco showed remarkable vision in recognizing how this experience could enhance its parks system and create a unique destination for residents and visitors alike. We're proud to partner with a City that was willing to lead the way and become the first in the country to bring OrbitPlay to its community.”

A key advantage for the City of Waco is that OrbitPlay's usage metrics are readily available, giving city leaders and its parks and recreation team clearer insights into how the space is being used over time, including peak days and timeframes. That means communities can go beyond anecdotal feedback and better understand visitor activity, patterns of use and overall engagement. Cities focused on maximizing the value of public investments can use this data to support planning, programming and future decision-making.
