Outdoor play helping create a community

KOMPAN was approached by Rosewood Greens to design and build a new, large playground for their community, aiming to attract new families and foster community growth. The playground would need a statement piece that would attract families to the area while providing an inclusive and engaging environment for children. The playground would need to consider its sustainability in its design and be strong and sturdy to last for decades in this new community.

The outcome? The ultimate hub for a family day out

KOMPAN delivered a playground surrounding Australia’s first Giant Dome at six metres high, with more than 170 play activities. Positioned as a landmark piece, it is surrounded by a double flying fox, an in-ground jumper, a multi-spinner carousel and a play tower that offers a wide range of play value, allowing kids to climb, crawl, balance, slide, swing and fly. The playground equipment enables the development of vital social, physical, creative and cognitive skills, creating an exciting environment for families and the new community. Adhering to the local council's commitment to tackling waste and acting sustainability, the equipment was made from sustainable materials. For example, the play tower’s panels are made from 100% recycled materials, including food packaging waste and plastic bags.

The customer was delighted with the entire process, and the community of Rosewood Green is thrilled with their new range of industry-leading playground equipment.

What steps were involved in this project?

After receiving the enquiry, our local expert arranged a site visit to meet with the customer. During the visit, they assessed the space, discussed the customer’s vision, and provided professional guidance on the best solutions to meet their needs.

Once we had gathered all the necessary details, our team carefully crafted a bespoke design that aligned with the customer's vision. Every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure the design not only met their functional and aesthetic requirements but also stayed within budget.

A mutually convenient installation date was agreed with the customer, ensuring minimal disruption. Once finalised, all equipment was carefully delivered, and comprehensive safety measures were put in place to protect the public and maintain a secure working environment. With everything in place, our expert installation team got to work.

The project was successfully completed within the agreed timeframe. Once the installation was finalised, our experienced inspection team conducted a thorough safety inspection, carrying out detailed checks on all equipment, surfacing, and structural elements. This rigorous process ensured that the site met all industry standards and safety regulations.
