Comiskey Group understood the need to create a playful experience for the Samford local community while they dined and socialised at the Samford Hotel. They approached KOMPAN and asked us to assist in developing a new play space as part of a multi-site development across various venues.

At the Samford Hotel, Comiskey Group asked us to put together multiple designs that would stand out amongst other pubs in the area and provide children with enough play opportunities to keep them entertained, encouraging families to stay at the venue longer.

The outcome? A play area designed to encourage longer stays
KOMPAN presented several options aligned with their goal, focusing on how best to engage, entertain and retain families so they stay longer and have a better experience. They wanted to achieve this with traditional play equipment constructed from robust, high-quality materials.
Set within a unique landscape of mature trees, abundant wildlife and a relaxed country lifestyle, KOMPAN delivered a play solution designed to seamlessly blend into its natural surroundings and appeal to children of all ages. The solution chosen by the client incorporated just 5 pieces of . From the Horse Seesaw to the Hideaway Tree, these pieces offer abundant play value and exceptional durability, built to handle high-use environments. Children can immerse themselves in imaginative role play within the tree structure or enjoy elevated views among the canopy alongside the local Cockatoos.
The two standout structures, the (a new product launched in 2025) and the Large Giant Tower, act as statement pieces that give the playground the wow factor. Together, they offer a diverse range of activities and stand tall as a main attraction for new families visiting the .
What steps were involved in this project?
After receiving the enquiry, our local expert arranged a site visit to meet with the customer. During the visit, they assessed the space, discussed the customer’s vision, and provided professional guidance on the best solutions to meet their needs.
Once we had gathered all the necessary details, our team carefully crafted a bespoke design that aligned with the customer's vision. Every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure the design not only met their functional and aesthetic requirements but also stayed within budget.
A mutually convenient installation date was agreed with the customer, ensuring minimal disruption. Once finalised, all equipment was carefully delivered, and comprehensive safety measures were put in place to protect the public and maintain a secure working environment. With everything in place, our expert installation team got to work.
The project was successfully completed within the agreed timeframe. Once the installation was finalised, our experienced inspection team conducted a thorough safety inspection, carrying out detailed checks on all equipment, surfacing, and structural elements. This rigorous process ensured that the site met all industry standards and safety regulations.
