KOMPAN was approached by the City of Armadale Council to rejuvenate an already existing playground, replacing an existing pirate ship with a KOMPAN custom pirate ship that is more suited to older children. The playground equipment would need to be both physically and socially engaging, allowing for exciting themed roleplay as well as a means to develop physical skills through play. The improvement of the playground would need to be more accommodating to the user group and be able to achieve high resonance within the community.

KOMPAN provided a playground which featured a statement piece pirate ship, including a cliff rider, climbing nets, a slide, and themed sensory equipment to enable themed role play. Situated near the pirate ship were multiple other pieces of equipment to provide more consistent play value. The equipment allows kids to swing, spin, crawl, fly, hang, climb, balance, and engage in social role play, boosting the development of crucial social, creative, cognitive, and physical skills. Accustomed to the initial design, the playground is better suited to the user group, allowing for more engagement from the community.

The customer was thrilled with the result, and the community was overjoyed with their brand-new industry-leading playground equipment.
