design idea of a playground for school-agers with thrilling play equipment

A playground for catching thrills and tackling challenges

WOW: The Physical Challenge area is designed so children can catch as many thrills as possible. Equipment like The Cliff Rider was designed by the Kompan Play Institute to be immensely fun but require a summon of courage to try for the first time. What seems to be high risk only proves to be a high reward; that proof is in their squeals of joy!

STAY: More thrills can be be found by spinning on the Multispinner Carousel, seesawing on the WeHopper, and of course the pushing and gliding sensation on the Cliff Rider. Kids can choose how daring they'd like to be, and they can spend hours going from one thrill to the next.

DEVELOP: Physical play gets kids moving and working on vital skills like their sense of balance, spatial awareness, and motor skills. They'll find opportunities to grow their self-esteem and self-assurance, as conquering the Cliff Rider takes courage. Although it might look like a headache in the making to us, the dizzying sensory input that comes from swinging and spinning helps a child’s nervous system mature.

Let’s play!

Physical
Joy of movement: motor skills, muscle, cardio and bone density
Social-Emotional
Joy of being together: teamwork, tolerance and sense of belonging
