JOYA Playground
A Crown Jewel of Play
In many areas around the world, rising temperatures in the very warm midday hours present a real challenge. When the City of Farmers Branch was looking to create a destination play space that could be enjoyed day or night, they worked with KOMPAN to create a playground design with built-in illumination. Joya, meaning "jewel" in Spanish, comes alive at night, with a 27-foot play sphere shining bright as its main attraction.
Beaming with Play Value
The sphere features six floors of climbing and sensory play, capped by giant dichroic panels. By following illuminated pathways, children can also find Spinner Bowls, a double Zipline, a play area for 2–5-year-olds as well as more spinning, climbing and swinging play. This gem of a playground shines bright for families in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area in Texas to enjoy, as it's not just a play area; it's a space for the whole family to connect, play, and create beautiful memories.
