The Tower with Fireman's Pole appeals immensely to children. With its climb and glide variation, children will try it out again, training cardio and muscles as they loop the Fireman's Pole and the varied access points. The inclined net access is a fun challenge to climb, and it trains the child's proprioception: the awareness of where the body parts are in space an how much force and distance it takes to move securely. The sturdy stair-step is a even more challenging with its chunky-grip, vertical steps. The platform offers a nice view. The fireman's pole is dare devils favourite whilst also training the children's muscles, their spatial awareness and last but not least their bone density. This is built up for life mainly in childhood, through weight bearing activities such as jumping and running.

Play Value

Play value is the value gained from play, the value that makes the child “want” or developmentally “need” to undertake the activity and because of this children will want to return to the item over and over again. Play value can be described very precisely in developmental terms, looking into the human physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental stages.

Climbing net

Physical

the inclined net supports the upward climbing movement of the body. The net supports cross-body coordination, which impacts coordination of the right and left part of brain, fundamental for other skills such as the ability to read. The asymmetry of the net challenges the children's climbing.

Fireman's pole

Physical

coordination is supported when going down, as well as arm and core muscles. Landing strengthens bone density, which is built for life in early childhood.

Social-Emotional

turn-taking and risk-taking.

Ladder with rope

Physical

cross coordination and eye-hand coordination are supported when children climb the ladder. Leg and core muscles are used intensely. Upper body muscles are developed when children pull themselves upwards in the rope.

Social-Emotional

learning about turn taking and cooperation.
