Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Fitness Site

The project came about due to the Sports and Social Club’s focus on health, physical and mental wellbeing in the work place. They had been carefully looking at various options over the years and post COVID had really stepped up the emphasis. They were looking to create an indoor gym in the outdoors that everyone regardless of age or ability could use. They wanted a layout that would be well spaced with lots of resistance training opportunities as well as adjustable weights. One where everyone could work out at their own level and pace. The final design came after various discussions with the committee members and further meetings with KOMPAN. It was felt from the outset that the KOMPAN Fitness equipment offering far outweighed anything anyone else in the market could offer them.

The new fitness area is now an extremely popular destination across the three core periods of before work, lunchtimes, and post work in the evenings. The easy to use KOMPAN Fitness App suggests various different exercises for each piece of equipment to give everyone a solid all round workout. The feedback from the staff and the membership of the club has been absolutely fantastic. It has been very positively received in both design and its vibrant colours which in turn invites their members to come and use it. The smooth operation of the equipment has also been commented on. Their Senior Management team who were party to the funding for the facility are also very pleased to see it being regularly used at all times throughout the day
