Ocean City Outdoor Fitness Park

Ocean City, a seaside community along the Jersey Shore in the U.S, sees a remarkable 900% population increase during the summer when tourists flock to its family-friendly, coastal attractions. When the City wanted to add to the plethora of outdoor activities it offers its seasonal visitors and year-round residents, they realised an exercise space that would alleviate the strain on its high school athletics track was greatly needed. With close proximity to the stadium and popular promenade, an outdoor gym emerged as the fitting choice. By working with KOMPAN, the City of Ocean City built a fitness solution for permanent residents and holidaymakers that sustains both frequent, heavy use and the elements of its coastal environment.

The Ocean City Outdoor Fitness Park was designed to offer a full-body workout to users of different ages, abilities, and stages of their fitness journeys. The outdoor strength machines, including the Leg Press, Chest Press, Horizontal Row, Lat Pull Down, and Shoulder Press, provide users with a traditional indoor gym experience, complete with adjustable weight resistance and handle options.

Four types of cardio equipment allow exercisers to choose the heart-pumping workout of their preference, including an Arm Bike that can be used seated, standing, or from a wheelchair. The on-screen information and KOMPAN Fit app integration enable users to monitor their performance by displaying their metrics on a Bluetooth-connected device.

The Super Combi 3 challenges both expert and beginner athletes with a variety of bodyweight exercises, and users can continue their cross-training routines with suspension trainers, magnetic kettlebells, and Core Twist poles on the Cross Training Pro Combi 3.
