The new generation of fitness equipment, using modern technology and robust materials including variable resistance cardio and strength equipment which provides a full body workout for all ages, abilities and demographics.

Aylesford Parish Council were looking to replace an existing 1st generation outdoor gym which was suffering from a combination of rust, expensive repairs and other defects. The gym was also regularly flagged up by safety inspectors for its defects and close proximity to a childrens playground. The Parish Council had already approached the original manufacturer who had provided a quotation to replace all of the existing equipment like for like. Considering the equipment was approximately 15 years old and had not lasted particularly well, they were concerned that the quotation from the original manufacturer would not be an obvious and immediate improvement.

Aylesford Parish Council then approached KOMPAN, due to our experience of delivering a great playground nearby. The new generation of fitness equipment, using modern technology and robust materials appealed instantly to the members. The proposal included variable resistance cardio and strength equipment which provides a full body workout for all ages, abilities and demographics.

The final design proposal featured several ‘new’ pieces from the KOMPAN Cardio Essentials range which had been touring the country providing free demonstrations to the public. Aylesford Parish Council asked if we could use the demo equipment at Forstal Recreation Ground so that their council members and the local community could ‘try before they buy’ which we duly obliged. The council was unanimous and quickly placed an order for the full proposal with funding coming from local section 106 contributions.

Also, the new fitness area is adjacent to the park playground, giving parents access to watch their children play whilst they workout.

In addition to the fitness equipment provided, park users also benefit from access to the KOMPAN Fit App which includes demonstration videos and suggested workouts based upon the equipment situated there. All of the fitness items for Forstal Recreation Ground are loaded onto the app whereby users can then select the site for specific suggested workout routines, whether the goal is to build strength or lose weight.
