Cala Homes are leading the new homes industry when it comes to sustainability. Cala Homes chose to partner with KOMPAN on this project because not only were the products crafted from waste materials, they are also independently verified. Giving Cala the peace of mind that their material selection is the greenest available. This project emphasised the need for using waste material and sourcing more environmentally responsible construction methods and materials. Our design proposal included many accessible items, mixed with thrilling challenges for a wide range of ages and abilities. This featured various different play equipment crafted from ocean and textile waste. The completion has fostered a great community hub, provoking thoughtful conversations with children and adults about sustainable construction and gives the potential to inspire even more. The customer was incredibly pleased with the process and the final outcome, as are the many nearby families and children that have used the play area since its opening. The final outcome has been an overwhelming success, becoming the number one playground in the local area. Working with Cala Homes on the installation of the greener play area at Aston Clinton has been a truly rewarding experience. The specification and installation is a testament to Cala Homes’ commitment to preserving the natural environment and providing children with engaging, full circle recycled play areas.
“We are delighted to have launched the new playground at our Farendon Fields development, offering children a fantastic space to interact and play, whilst championing how important it is to give waste materials a new lease of life. At Cala, we are committed to lowering our impact on the planet, whatever way we can, and this is another step in the right direction. We want to add value to the areas in which we build, and being more sustainable is a big part of this. The wider impact on society and the environment plays a key role in everything we do. We look forward to families in Weston Turville and the surrounding areas enjoying this playground for years to come.”
