Designed to Reflect Your Museum's Theme

Set along the banks of the River Clyde and surrounded by stunning parkland, the David Livingstone Birthplace Museum invites visitors to follow Livingstone’s journey from Blantyre to Africa—now enhanced by a themed play area that reflects this incredible story.

As part of a recent facilities upgrade, the museum partnered with KOMPAN to create a custom-designed play space that captures the spirit of Livingstone’s African adventures. Our design team crafted a bespoke playground featuring a ROBINIA ship and an African Hut activity unit as central attractions, each filled with opportunities for imaginative, physical, and cognitive play. Among the trees, children can even spot a giraffe, lion, and gorilla, adding a touch of adventure to every visit!

"KOMPAN were extremely helpful and responsive before, during and after the installation of this play park. The design team worked effectively with us to achieve our aims and the installation team were very helpful, accommodating and adjusting to other contractors within the wider works. The new play park is a tremendous success with the local community and has been a great addition to the ‘Birthplace’ project. The David Livingstone trust is delighted with the quality of the equipment and all the finishes.”
