Families with children in Frederiksberg, Denmark can now enjoy a new playground in the Fuglebakke neighbourhood. Here, children can use their energy on a wide selection of exciting play equipment. The playground is divided into smaller 'play zones' which gives encouragement to explore many different play opportunities. From activities such as playing on trampolines, swings, slides and spinning equipment to sand play at the playhouse or role play in the impressive 5.8 metres tall observation tower, the playground has something to offer children of all ages.
In addition to being an entertaining play universe, the playground's universal design also fulfils the requirements for inclusion. This means that children with disabilities can move around the space effortlessly thanks to its surfacing and choice of play activities such as spinners, swings and sandpits that support different body postures and needs. In addition, the observation tower's walkway, as well as the wide distance between play zones, enables easy access for both wheelchair users and parents with prams and pushchairs. .
In an inclusive playground, everyone can play. Not everyone can necessarily play with everything, but everyone can play with something.
