Playground equipment for all visitors
Using the Solution Planner technology, KOMPAN were able to give Hoo Zoo a comprehensive look at the equipment and change key play features on each element. The benefit of this is that the client can see their vision being ‘built’ in front of them in real time. It was decided the project would be split into 4 phases:
Phase 1: The Man-O-War ship, for different ages and abilities.
Phase 2: The 4-Tower Castle unit, for a bespoke experience.
Phase 3: The toddler section, low-level and sensory items.
Phase 4: The BLOQX 6, dynamic climbing zone in Greenline (recycled ocean waste material).
The play areas are a massive hit with visitors, many of which are children or pre-teens, so having something to suit every age range is working well.

Sustainably conscious play equipment
It was very important for Hoo Zoo that they could make greener choices when choosing play equipment. This is reflected in BLOQX climbing equipment.
Greenline BLOQX products are built of molded PP panels which consist of 75% recycled post consumer ocean waste and 25% virgin material. The panels are designed with a unique pattern that provides a non-skid surface texture. GreenLine ensures the lowest possible CO2e emission factor.
