Lorikeet Park, Gold Coast
Attracting new families with a bespoke play space
Skyridge real estate developers approached KOMPAN as part of their large residential development on the Gold Coast, with Lorikeet Park being one of multiple outdoor playgrounds within the new community. For Lorikeet Park, Skyridge wanted a major landmark playground due to its hilltop location overlooking the city of the Gold Coast. With this in mind, our designers created a Lorikeet bird themed play structure to represent the local wildlife. They also placed high value on an inclusive play space for children of all ages and abilities.

The outcome? Innovative playground equipment and a delighted community
KOMPAN delivered this project from concept to completion, including playground design, supply of all , and installation. Completed on schedule to align with Skyridge’s timeline, the project resulted in an inclusive, responsibly made, standout play area for children in the community. The solution was developed through the close collaboration of KOMPAN play experts working with the customer to achieve their desired outcome.
In addition to this, there were many custom elements to the project, most notably the two centrepiece play structures, the Lorikeet and the Sky Walk towers. The end result is a strong showcase of our design capabilities at KOMPAN, with both structures incorporating numerous . For example, the Sky Walk towers integrate a tree through the centre, an important request from the customer that our design team successfully delivered a solution for.
We encountered a few challenges on site, as well as some design changes, which our internal project management and design teams promptly addressed, ensuring the project remained on track.
The customer and community are very happy with the result, and the kids have been playing non-stop.
What steps were involved in this project?
After receiving the enquiry, our local expert arranged a site visit to meet with the customer. During the visit, they assessed the space, discussed the customer’s vision, and provided professional guidance on the best solutions to meet their needs.
Once we had gathered all the necessary details, our team carefully crafted a bespoke design that aligned with the customer's vision. Every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure the design not only met their functional and aesthetic requirements but also stayed within budget.
A mutually convenient installation date was agreed with the customer, ensuring minimal disruption. Once finalised, all equipment was carefully delivered, and comprehensive safety measures were put in place to protect the public and maintain a secure working environment. With everything in place, our expert installation team got to work.
The project was successfully completed within the agreed timeframe. Once the installation was finalised, our experienced inspection team conducted a thorough safety inspection, carrying out detailed checks on all equipment, surfacing, and structural elements. This rigorous process ensured that the site met all industry standards and safety regulations.
