Boongaree Rotary Nature Play Park
Creating an inclusive multi-age & multi-skill adventure park
KOMPAN was approached by Shoalhaven City Council with the idea of an inclusive, multi-age, and multi-skilled adventure play park for locals and visitors. The customer wanted to split the area into two, with a youth adventure zone and a childhood adventure zone, providing bespoke and catalogue designs for each area to maximise play value. The customer wanted the design to appeal physically towards the children by creating a theme that would invite the relevant age group to their designated zone.

KOMPAN provided the council with a playground that incorporated as well as thrilling adventure zones. A designated youth zone offers tweens and teenagers the chance to challenge themselves both physically and socially, incorporating a bespoke , a 36-meter , l, and a .
KOMPAN provided a childhood adventure zone for younger children, focusing on accessible play equipment and creative nature play. The childhood zone features a bespoke sky play tower that enables above-ground play, a wheelchair carousel to create an accessible environment, , areas to provide a sensory experience, as well as and swings.
To create an entomology theme, each section was designed to represent an insect; the youth zone was designed with a redback spider in mind, while the younger childhood zone was created to represent a gentle ladybug. This contrast further pushes the dedicated zones' appeal to each age group.
The selected playground equipment encourages play for all ages and offers a high level of play value, allowing kids to climb, hang, swing, spin, slide, balance and stimulate their senses, thereby supporting a child's cognitive, physical, social, and creative development.

What steps were involved in this project?
