Parque la Pineda
A new multidimensional area to attract family tourism
The Pineda de Vila-Seca requalification project has focused on revitalising the promenade area to promote family tourism through sport, taking advantage of the natural and marine environment that the area already offers.
All the play elements imitate life at sea, the fishermen's boats, the large Robinia Lighthouse and the Nimbus Cloud Net, designed by KOMPAN Design Studio.
A large Robinia lighthouse lights up the Gold Coast
On top of a mound covered in different coloured rubber, KOMPAN designed a large lighthouse with a slide. Next to it are small boats, also made of Robinia wood, that melt into the sea, and semi-spheres that simulate the reefs off the coast of Tarragona. KOMPAN's designers were inspired by the sea life of the Mediterranean and the Tarragona coast, as well as by the mosaics of the Roman villa. To the left of the lighthouse is the first Corocord Nimbus Cloud Net, which is over 4 metres high. The net has different access points and inside there is a play area where adults and children can experience different play activities such as climbing, swinging or even bouncing.
