Bringing Play to Nature

When the city of Winter Garden purchased Tucker Ranch in 2011, they wanted it to be an enjoyable place for the community while not intervening too much with the beauty of the area. Therefore, a typical-looking playground wouldn’t work, as it would ruin the entire atmosphere of the surrounding nature. With KOMPAN’s Robinia product line, the city was able to get a functional playground made from organic and long-lasting wood. Robinia can survive all types of weather, and it blends in perfectly with nature. Since opening the playground, it has become a real hit with the children!

Tucker Ranch in Florida

"They wanted the kids to feel like they were able to play amongst the trees."

Ralph Biddy, Principal Sales Executive, KOMPAN

A Natural and Functional Playground

With the nature playground equipment line, the city gained a visually aesthetic playground and a functional one. It challenges children of different age groups at their skill levels. For example, the wooden spring rider speaks to smaller children, who will, while having fun, improve their motoric skills and awareness by rocking back and forth. The double tower is a great way for bigger children to improve their strengths by climbing in the monkey bars or getting challenged on the banister. For Bravehearts, the bridge between the two towers challenges the children and pushes them to try new adventurous things at their own speed. The double slide is perfect for peer-to-peer play and trains spatial awareness and a sense of balance. The commercial wooden swing set holds multiple children at a time which improves patience and cooperation such as turn-taking. Swinging improves the children’s ABCs: agility, balance, and coordination.
