Mooloolaba Foreshore Playground
Creating a bespoke landmark for all ages and abilities
KOMPAN was approached by the Sunshine Coast Council with the goal of creating a bespoke landmark that revitalises the parklands and attracts new visitors. With the parkland located opposite the beach, the design would need to incorporate coastal-hardy materials to prevent oxidation and avoid the possibility of rust. The project required an elevated design that provides an unobstructed view of the ocean and is accessible and engaging for people of all ages. Most importantly, the customer wanted to appeal to and attract families to the parklands, providing a playground that would develop kids' skills and strengths.

KOMPAN provided Mooloolaba Foreshore with a bespoke custom net that encourages explorative play for all ages and can accommodate 100+ people at one time. More than just the net, KOMPAN provided equipment that encourages , along with a range of designed to promote inclusivity. To combat the increased moisture of a beachfront playground, KOMPAN provided coastal-hardy materials to increase longevity and a playground that will last for decades. The offers children endless play value, helping to develop their climbing skills, balance, coordination, and strength, while also fostering fundamental social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
This playground has been enjoyed by children and families since its opening and has become a local landmark.

6. Final inspection & handover
Once the project is complete, your project manager and the wider team will carry out quality assurance checks and a thorough safety inspection, assessing all equipment, surfacing, and structural elements. After this is completed, we’ll proceed with the handover, providing you with an independent playground audit along with your own maintenance manual and warranty documents.
