HOTA Parklands Outdoor Gym, Gold Coast
Gold Coast’s most complete outdoor gym
KOMPAN was asked by HOTA, Home of the Arts, to provide a custom-made outdoor gym at this high-traffic location to suit the needs of the community. Our in-house design team created a layout featuring both a calisthenics zone and a strength and resistance area. The calisthenics zone includes astro turf surfacing, while the strength equipment is set among concrete pathways, ensuring wheelchair users and people of all abilities can access the equipment. The concept was presented to the council through detailed 2D and 3D visualisations.

Since opening, the gym has quickly become a local hotspot, with personal trainers, fitness enthusiasts, and residents of all ages and abilities making the most of the new facilities. Featuring indoor-gym quality equipment built for the outdoors, HOTA boasts KOMPAN’s industry-leading outdoor resistance range, including cardio and strength machines that are globally recognised for their adjustable weight resistance mechanism. Offering users a complete workout, this new outdoor gym is in constant use and it’s so good that people may never step foot inside a gym again.

What steps were involved in this project?
After receiving the enquiry, our local expert arranged a site visit to meet with the customer. During the visit, they assessed the space, discussed the customer’s vision, and provided professional guidance on the best solutions to meet their needs.
Once we had gathered all the necessary details, our team carefully crafted a bespoke design that aligned with the customer's vision. Every element was thoughtfully considered to ensure the design not only met their functional and aesthetic requirements but also stayed within budget.
A mutually convenient installation date was agreed with the customer, ensuring minimal disruption. Once finalised, all equipment was carefully delivered, and comprehensive safety measures were put in place to protect the public and maintain a secure working environment. With everything in place, our expert installation team got to work.
The project was successfully completed within the agreed timeframe. Once the installation was finalised, our experienced inspection team conducted a thorough safety inspection, carrying out detailed checks on all equipment, surfacing, and structural elements. This rigorous process ensured that the site met all industry standards and safety regulations.
