Well-designed play equipment can nurture and grow a new community by bringing children, teenagers, and families together to interact and have fun! At Aura, an award-winning housing development on the Sunshine Coast, adding eye-catching equipment like this Dinosaur play sculpture is prioritised to attract young families for future communities that are happy and healthy.
What makes the Aurasaurus a truly incredible play unit is the amount of play value that is packed into the design. The low, mid and high-level play activities on the creature's body paired with sensory elements like dichroic panels, a thrilling slide, a timber dino egg for toddler play, swings and hammocks make this a wildly entertaining area for children of all ages to play and stay for hours on end.
This playground is truly unique, and since its opening, has been increasingly popular for the nearby families in the area. The iconic Dino-themed design is a source of pride for new residents and the rope climbing net and colourful materials serve as a beacon of fun for visitors as they drive through the new suburb of Nirimba in Aura.
"The shadows were really cool. At first, I thought I was just seeing things. And I was shocked. That was so cool. I've never seen that in a park before"
Mia - Playful Child
Children of various ages can enjoy this playground and feel a sense of achievement as they progress through the dinosaur, whether entering through the head and down the tail or climbing directly up the belly of the beast.
Designed with a strong Jurassic theme, the play area includes a custom Corocord dinosaur with a climbing net and a thrilling slide. The playground sculpture has sensory play elements near the ground to engage smaller children and a toddler’s dinosaur egg playhouse and relaxation area with hammocks. Of course, a is also included as a playground staple.
For this project, KOMPAN designed, manufactured, and supplied the playground equipment.
