Robinia Climbing Trails

Playgrounds and natural playground equipment offer essential opportunities for a child’s physical, cognitive and social development. Obstacle courses turn the point of development inwards, focusing on personal agility, responsiveness and equilibrium. Developing the inner balance to be able to automatically respond to constant changes in your footing and body position, is amongst the most vital of motor skills. Basically, through play, transferable skills and dexterities are gained that will hopefully ease the road through life for as long as possible.

The wooden obstacle course or Robinia Climbing Trails triggers competitiveness and a sense of achievement with agility being at the forefront. The rich variety of balancing, swaying, and climb-and-crawl activities are great fun and great training of fundamental physical and socio-emotional life skills.  

Robinia is an ideal material for our obstacle course as the Robinia tree provides a material that is strong, durable and will last - ideal for children to enjoy our obstacle courses for years to come. Within our obstacle coures we use a special "Hercules" type rope with galvanised six-stranded steel wires. Each strand is tightly wrapped with PES yarn, which is melted on to each individual strand. The ropes are long lasting and vandal resistant.
