Recycled waste turned into durable play off the coast
Hallandale Beach, a vibrant coastal community in southeastern Florida, recognised the need to replace the playground at South City Beach Park. The existing equipment was too challenging for the toddler- to pre-school-aged children who regularly visit the area.
With its location just steps from the beach, the new playground also needed to withstand harsh coastal conditions, including rapid calcification and corrosion caused by Atlantic saltwater.
By partnering with KOMPAN, the City of Hallandale Beach delivered an age-appropriate, highly durable solution made from - ensuring a safe, fun play experience built to last in a demanding seaside environment.

Creating safe, age-appropriate play by the beach
Every piece of play equipment at South City Beach Park is built using both made from more than 95% post-consumer recycled textile and plastic waste.
The playground offers a wide range of age-appropriate play experiences. The Four Towers + Bridges, interactive play panels, and encourage active, varied play for children of different abilities and energy levels.
For quieter moments, the Daisy Desk provides a natural space for younger children to take a break from more energetic play, while the Double Car invites imaginative, themed play - putting toddlers in the driver’s seat of their own adventures.
