Slides

Just one more go

No matter their age, children love a good slide! When visiting a playground, the slide is often the activity they run to first, and demand a final play on before heading home – ‘just one more go, please!’ Sliding trains the child's spatial awareness, which among other factors is important for managing traffic safely and their sense of balance. Furthermore, the core muscles are trained when sitting upright sliding down.

KOMPAN's stand-alone slides offer numerous play activities. Whether the children use the slide or play hide and seek underneath it, imagination is the only limit. The high panels offer a great sense of security and form the perfect lookout point. KOMPAN’s embanked slides are ideal if you want to reduce the risk of falling. The play advantage of an embankment slide is the interaction that can occur with friends when going down the very same hill as friends running or climbing up or down.

For younger children, the climb to the top of the slide is the start of the thrill. That first time requires a new level of courage, of dare-devil-do, but the climb up is always rewarded by the shoot down to earth. The slides that use embankments give a different user experience. The proximity to the ground makes the child feel like they are on a toboggan run, especially since the construction enables a longer chute, a longer thrill.

How much does a KOMPAN slide cost?

The price of our slides varies according to type, size and component materials. We offer numerous slides and the prices of our sldies will therefore require more information regarding your exact wishes. Do not hesitate to ask for a quote for a specific slide or your specific playground. Prices start at around €2,000.

What is the longest slide?

The Embankment slide is 2.87 m in fall length, but KOMPAN has installed custom-built slides with a slide length of more than 10 meters…

What are the stimulating benefits of a KOMPAN slide?

Slides are a thrill rush and contribute to important aspects of motor-skill development. Children train and improve agility when climbing up and balance, coordination and spatial awareness when shooting down. All necessary skills when judging distance and navigating safely in traffic.

Slides require younger children to anticipate cause and effect and managing rhythms. The height and length trains children’s judgement of distance and speeds. All these are important cognitive abilities that are crucial to develop through childhood.

Are slides just solo experiences?

How often have you seen groups of kids coming down together? Generally however, the slide is a single experience, although in the younger age groups they can be paired to encourage companionship.
