Inclusion is a core design principle, not an added feature. It is not only about selecting play equipment, but shaping a complete, 360-degree environment through safety surfacing, spatial layout, sightlines, and movement, ensuring the story unfolds naturally as children play and explore the space.

Integrating natural elements and preserving existing trees is a deliberate design choice that adds real play value. KOMPAN Designers approach each site to understand how existing landscape features can shape play, not just frame it. By customizing play structures to wrap around trees, follow root zones, or take advantage of natural shade, the playground becomes part of the environment rather than placed on top of it. Working with the landscape, not against it, allows us to create grounded, inviting spaces where nature supports physical play, social interaction, and imaginative experiences in a setting that feels authentic to the site.

A well-designed playground uses topography as an active design partner, not a limitation. By working with hills, slopes, and natural level changes, play spaces can introduce varied physical challenges that build strength, balance, and coordination through movement children naturally seek out. KOMPAN specializes in shaping play equipment to fit the land, like embedding embankment slides directly into a hillside, anchoring rope climbing structures to follow a slope, or creating custom climbing routes that rise and fall with the terrain. This approach reduces the need for extensive ground modification while turning elevation, texture, and movement into core play values. Technical precision unites with clear, engaging visual communication to bring each playground vision to life. Alongside full technical documentation, the team produces 3D renderings and presentation materials that help clients and communities understand the experience, not just the objects.
