Rock climber

Physical: supports cross coordination and leg, arm and hand strength. The hand-holds on top ease entry into platform.

Social-emotional: the inclination makes climbing feel secure, especially for younger children.

Somersault bar

Physical: develop balance and core when hanging from knees. Arm, leg and core muscles are developed when climbing up, somersaulting around. Balance and spatial awareness are strengthened.

Social-emotional: meeting, socializing and turn-taking when climbing up and down via bar.

Turbo challenge

Physical: upper body muscles are trained when hanging. Agility, proprioception and coordination are trained when spinning from one ring to the next. Spatial awareness and sense of balance are trained by the rotating motion.

Social-emotional: the sections of each of the spinners allow for more children hanging in arms or knees, cooperating. This trains empathy and turn-taking skills – life skills that are easily acquired during play, but harder to teach.

Curly climber

Physical: coordination and proprioception are supported when placing arms and legs correctly for going down. Sense of balance when rotating. Arm muscles for holding tight.

Social-emotional: empathy stimulated by turn-taking.

Cognitive: logical thinking when placing arms and legs right for rotating downwards.

Slide

Physical: sliding develops spatial awareness and a sense of balance. Furthermore, the core muscles are trained when sitting upright going down.

Social-emotional: empathy stimulated by turn-taking.

Cognitive: young children develop their understanding of space, speed and distances when sliding down quickly.

Pipe ladder

Physical: cross coordination and eye-hand coordination are supported when children climb the ladder. The climbing also supports leg and arm muscles.

Social-emotional: learning about turn taking and cooperation.
