Play to Grow

To make the best playground for all, one size doesn’t fit all. As children grow, so do their play needs, play preferences and play capabilities: Infants cannot master the same play activities as toddlers. And toddlers don’t dare the same as tweens. There are basic measures for what play activities make the best resourcing for children at varying age stages.

The KOMPAN Play Institute work diligently with the physical and cognitive child growth fundamentals. But, childhoods changes as well the world changes. Activities that adults find really playful may have been overtaken by other games by the present generations. This is why KOMPAN develops playgrounds and play equipment based on child observations, child involvement and child input. Playgrounds are for children and should be fun primarily for them as they play to grow and grow to play.
