Explorer Dome

Colour MEDIUM GREEN

It's a jungle of fun! Amazing meandering nets, ropes and wobbly play items make the play of older children unstoppable. The spacious top net is a desired meeting point for huge groups of children. The ways to climb and reach the multiple play levels are many: via nets, wacky tubes, rope ladders, play shells or coconut ropes. This rich variety of climbing, crawling and balancing make children come back again and again to refine and improve their previous attempts at climbing the nets. The multitude of twisted, bouncing balancing and climbing events intensely support children's motor skill ABC's: agility, balance and coordination. Spatial awareness is stimulated due to the transparency of the structure. This also makes social interaction easy. Socializing, turn-taking and empathy are social-emotional skills for life. In the Explorer Dome they come to use repeatedly.

Key Features

NRO_PP Coconut rope

The PP rope in coconut style has a diameter of 15cm. The internal steel wire core has thimbles at both ends, which serve as attachments for the rope to existing connecting elements.

COR_alu clamps

Corocord aluminium clamps are used as connectors between steel posts and rope. Two aluminium castings are bolted together. The height of the clamps is thus variable.

COR play shell

The large components are made of 100% recyclable PE. The play shell displayed is moulded in one piece with minimum 5mm wall thickness to ensure high durability in all climates around the world.

COR_rope 19mm+

Corocord ropes with 19mm diameter or more are special 'Hercules' - type with galvanised six-stranded steel wires. Each strand is tightly wrapped with PES yarn, which is melted onto each indivudual strand. The ropes are highly wear-and vandalism-resistant and can be replaced at site if needed.

COR_S-clamps

Corocord 'S' clamps are used as universal connections in Corocord products. 8mm stainless steel rods with rounded edges are pressed around the ropes with a special hydraulic press, making them the ideal connector: safe, durable and vandalism-proof, all while allowing the typical movement of rope play structures.

COR_8 rope colors

Through KOMPAN Variant Team, you can choose between additional 7 rope colours and customize your solution. The assortment is a wide span of colours ranking from elegant and expressive black or natural and toned-down hemp colour, to a range of attractive and eye-catching signal colours.

The overall framework applied for these factors is the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which quantifies "environmental information on the life cycle of a product and enables comparisons between products fulfilling the same function" (ISO, 2006). This follows the structure and applies a Life-Cycle Assessment approach to the entire Product stage from raw material through manufacturing (A1-A3).
