Aaby, Mölndal (Gothenburg)

The pitches are a part of the project 'Attractive Aaby' which aims at making Aaby a better place to live. In the planning process the students from the local schools have been involved along with representatives from public authorities and other consultants and the result is this area shown on the pictures below.

The robust pitches offers all possibilities for different ballgames. The idea is that the pitches should offer the youth the possibility of participating in various activities without having to be a part of a sports club. In order to make it possible to use the pitches even when it is dark the pitches are illuminated in the evening but not all night. Timers have been installed which signals that when the lights are out it is time to go home.

The project has paid off. This was veru obvious at the inauguration when hundreds of children and teenagers gathered at the new pitches.
