Preschool
Preschool children are distinctly different from toddlers because, as well as being key observers of the world they live in, they can increasingly express themselves using spoken language. This leads to hours of role-play, emulating the people and situations they see around them. It’s said that role-play is a wish by children to control the uncontrollable – a ‘dry run’ at living in the world they’ll one day inhabit.
Great play signals for this age group are activities that are action-packed and that also relate to their instinct for observation, pretend games and the need to gather in groups.
